Left my dreams at the lamp post
For I felt a bit weird
Cause I had them with me
When no one else dared.
Tied my dreams to the lamp post
Then realized soon
Without them I would
Not see star or moon
For all around me
The people they stared
To the ground only
And saw nothing fair.
This moment I knew
And I was all sure
That all these poor people
Had forsaken the cure
Which was running back
Right to the spot –
I looked at my dreams
And abandoned them not.
So go on call me crazy
Like I ever cared!
I’m not easily daunted
Though I’m easily scared.
