First: I’m going to visit Taizé from 2008-08-16 21:00 +0200 .. 2008-08-25 02:45 +0200.
Second: I reactivated the meebome-Plugin for this site. It’s a nice opportunity to leave me a message without logging in somewhere. I’m not always logged into meebo, though, so don’t count on me answering immediately.

Der GMX-Messenger benachrichtigt bei neuen studiVZ-Nachrichten… verdammich! Die haben also ‘ne Schnittstelle… muharhar.

grr.. es funzt nich. “Der Server zur Anzeige Ihrer sozialen Netzwerke ist im Moment leider nicht erreichbar.”
Pft.
oh. klappt. man kann aber nur Nachrichten lesen – nicht löschen. mist.

Jabber/XMPP S2S Unreliable…

Sometimes XMPP-Messages get lost without notice, sometimes the server on the sending site sends a nice notification (“could not deliver blah…”). Problem exists in both directions.

Servers involved: jabber.ccc.de and talk.google.com

Also, messages tend to need a very long time to arrive, if you just logged on (quick test shows 58s from ccc to google).
And more weird things happening: contacts seem to go offline even if they are, in fact, online. Messages get through flawless, though.

I should write something to do some automated testing, preferrably involving other Jabber servers as well… If I just weren’t so lazy…

update:
jabber.ccc.de is getting fresh hardware… so let’s hope this will void all problems :)
